The M.W.A. was founded in 1948 as an association for architectural and custom woodworking shops. M.W.A. shops are all signatory with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. The association holds bi-monthly General Membership meetings. Discussions at these meetings help advance industry direction, problem solving and facilitate communication with the New York City District Council of Carpenters. In addition, we often invite guest speakers who speak to our members on industry related issues. As the unifying voice of the commercial architectural woodworking shops, we believe, it is increasingly important to organize and exchange information to promote our industry.
